Blackberry Curve Review
By
Blackberry is a trusted name that will be sure to give you a reliable product, and this is certainly true of the Blackberry Curve. You will be astonished at the quality of this phone. RIM have clearly had their thinking caps on and have not cut any corners with their latest offering. So, what is so great about it? For starters, you get an easy to use 2 megapixel camera, a great multi-media package, and a battery that will just keep on going.
The 240 x 320 pixel display is sported on a 2.5 inch screen, which vividly illustrates everything from your favorite videos and photos to the web page you are browsing. The smooth design is sure to be the envy of everyone around. The design is simple and easy to use – even including a standard 3.5mm stereo jack (for audio playback with any standard set of headphones). The left side of the device also includes a handy push-to-talk key and USB port. The right side of the Curve gives the easy access to volume control and the camera function.
Blackberry definitely stepped up its game in terms of designing the Curve’s multimedia ability. The smartphone will play back various audio formats, including MP3, WMA, and AAC, along with various video formats, like WMV, MPEG-4, and H.263. The Curve processes the multimedia information very smoothly, very rarely experiencing any hiccups. The two megapixel camera will deliver high quality 4″ x 6″ prints – impressive for a camera phone. However, the Blackberry’s ultimate media strength lies in its email application. The Curve can sync up to ten separate email accounts with ease and finesse.
You will love the capacity for web browsing that with from the Blackberry Curve. Webpages show up fast enough and you are not left with that annoying few second wait for them to render. The call quality is good, though it would have been even better if it was possible to be able to get more volume out of it. If you are not constantly making calls or watching videos, the battery will last up around four days. When talking on the phone, it will last for about four hours, which puts it on a par with other high end smartphones.
While the Blackberry Curve does not really compete with the HTC Desire or iPhone 4, as those are far more expensive, this is a decent rival for the Samsung Wave, the LG Optimus or other such phones in that price range. It might not be the best, but neither is it lacking in cool features – you can get fantastic email connectivity, long battery life and a fantastic camera. You would be hard pressed to find a better phone than the Blackberry Curve for the cost.
